Moving Country With Family

Moving Country With Family
Miho & Jay At Gothenburg, Vasaparken.

I can't remember where I read this, but it said something like this. Sometimes you need to let go of something comfortable and good. To find something that is truly great.

With this in the back of my head, is still so easy to find excuses why you should not move or try to find the perfect circumstances.

When you also have the whole Japanese side (grandmother, wife's sisters, friends) that tries to do everything to push up your move, then it's easy to start to question if this is the right decision.

Money is also a very interesting question here. If you don't have enough saved up, a move would be very difficult. Even if you have support from both family and friends.

You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.
~ Martin Luther King, Jr

At this moment we have sold all our things in Japan and my wife and son just did their first week in Sweden. So far so good, but it's still a lot of things that have to be done before it can be great. But Rome did not reach its greatness in a week so I keep faith in the process and that I will make the right decision when the time comes.

What I am scared of at this moment

  • How my wife and son will adapt to food, language, culture, and friends.
  • How we will cope with the weather, especially the winter.
Being scared is part of being alive. Accept it. Walk through it.

Starting over
When you start over you have the chance to slow down and think about what was good or bad in your "previous life". You can now bring with you the good and it's much easier to change a bad habit when you putting yourself in a new environment. it's a little bit similar to starting a new habit on Monday or the 1st day of the month.

I just want to end and say that I am very proud of myself and my family to take a leap of faith and being courageous together. I also looking forward to seeing how much we will grow and learn from this adventure both as individuals and as a family.

I also know that if you have something that you are scared over and you choose to run right towards it. Then you will be very proud too.

A new day: Be open enough to see opportunities.
Be wise enough to be grateful.
Be courageous enough to be happy.
