Motivation

Motivation
Motivates me to get back to that ocean view. Phuket, Thailand.

How fascinating is it that we get motivated by so different things? To be able to push through when life gets bumpy, you need your motivation to be turned on. So let's see if we can be a little wiser in this area before we leave each other today.

Where I find it

  • Walking around looking for it, can be a colleague that does something great or just something I read in a book.
  • Trying to find out what the person I talk to likes and is good at. Then use that information to motivate me to be better in that area.
  • Motivation is very interconnected with energy and to boost that, I use music, podcast, movies, books, documentaries, eating healthy, and exercise.
  • Dreaming big, believing in the slow process, and enjoying the journey.

Goals

That reaching goals are motivating is probably no news, so a couple in every area in your life. Don't forget to update them. This will help you stay focused, don't forget to enjoy the journey and celebrate if you reach a goal.

Something else that you probably heard about is that you will turn out like the people closest to you. With that in mind, these people are also wonderful sources to draw motivation from. Be the best dad I can be for my wife and son. My sister and my best friends work their butts off to conquer the world, most say that it's quite motivating too.

Be clear about what kind of person you want to be.

Other places to find the fire.

  • That you do something that you get acknowledged for.
  • Learning and developing skills at a good pace.
  • Be in a place where you feel belonging and meaning.
  • Book your next destination.

I don't want to scare you and say that your next decision can change the entire course of your life. But if we not looking for opportunities, we will not be ready when they fall into our lap.
