Every one of us has our morning routine and if you don't have one, you should definitely think about it. My mornings have changed many times during the years and I love to find new morning habits to set me up for a beautiful day. With energy, a clear mind, a smile on my face, and love all around me.

This is my morning routine

  • Wake up early
  • Remember my dreams
  • High-five in the mirror
  • Hydrate
  • Meditate
  • Start with service
  • Do something for me
  • Breakfast
  • Cold shower

Wake up early

For me alone time is important and it appears between 5-7 am when my wife Miho and my son Jay are still asleep. The rest of the world is also in silence (if you don't look at your notifications and emails).

Before I leave my bed I try to remember my dreams and if I do, I try to figure out what they mean. I sleep with a notebook close to me, and with that, I am ready for my ideas. Frankenstein, Google, DNA, and many other creations/discoveries came from dreams.

On the way to the bathroom, I High-five myself in the mirror. I know it sounds crazy, but don't say anything before you tried it yourself. Good job (you are up at 5 am), you can do it(have another wonderful day) and so much more is loaded in the high-five.

What I hydrate and how much, depends on what I did yesterday and how it looks inside the toilet bowl. Normally it's just a big glass of water. If a need a little bit more I can squeeze a lemon in there and if I want a more cleansing feeling, then I go for a celery juice. Together with the drink, I use the supplement vitamin D3, especially in the winter months or if a cold is closing in.

Meditation, meditation, meditation. I have tried a lot of different styles and I have stopped at something super simple. Having a notebook close in hand and just close my eyes. Can be on a yoga mat with the sunrise, can be on the sofa with my bed cover over me. Just write down what comes to mind. If it's a lot going on in there I use to do some breathwork or try to feel all my senses. Deep breaths with a longer output will calm you down and feeling all your senses will make you present.

Before I leave the meditation, I want to set up an intention for the day. Also bring my soul, body, and mind into a state of gratitude and love.

Starting with service is something I never slip on, can be anything from putting up the dishes, folding the laundry, or cleaning up space. This action tells me that I am here to serve the universe and that will bring me into that mindset for the rest of the day.

Now to the fun part, do something for yourself that is align with your goals. Run those kilometers, write that book, launch that company, drink that delicious cup of coffee, and so on. If you have something to bite your teeth in for yourself. You will have more energy and more glow and that's a person, people want to be around.

Trying to have a fiber-rich breakfast that can include. Muesli (seeds, dry fruits, nuts, oats, and a granola mix) apple, blueberries, and avocado. Together with the muesli, I use either plain yogurt, oat milk, or almond milk. The first sip of coffee takes place here too.

Something not so fun, but building resistance in you is a cold shower. I have to admit that during the winter I only wash my head and the lower part of my body with cold water and later when it gets a little bit warmer I do the full body. If you want to know more about the benefits you can read about it here ( https://www.wimhofmethod.com/benefits-of-cold-showers).

Now I am ready to deal with whatever the world throws at me.

Conclusion

Find time for yourself and your craft. Make habits that can flourish you throughout the whole day and for the rest of your life. Go out and be a humbling servant of the universe.

Opportunities are like sunrises. If you wait too long you miss them.
